In Allenmore's six-bed Intensive Care Unit, all rooms are observed directly or by Closed Circuit Television and are equipped for critical care, some also for isolation and dialysis. Glass doors allow open bays or acoustical privacy. Rooms are sized and furnished to include families in the healing process. A second seven-bed unit, opening soon, will be entirely acuity adaptable with fully accessible ADA bathing facilities; beds oriented to allow patients to see outside; and charting alcoves with observation windows into every room.
